Mrs. Eka used to work as a waste sorter, collecting waste from hotels. However, since the Covid-19 pandemic, she has quit her job as a waste sorter. Initially, she rented her business premises, but the rent increased every year. Finally, she decided to rent land and build her own business premises. After receiving a loan from GMI, she was able to purchase a display case, refrigerator, and various products to sell at her business premises. Her business turnover increased from Rp 500,000 per day to Rp 700,000 per day, and her net profit from Rp 100,000 to Rp 200,000 per day.

Mrs. Eka lives in an employee dormitory with her husband and five children: Kadek Devi (13), Komang Febri (9), Ketut Putra (8), Putu Ardana (5), and Made Widia (3). Her house has two bedrooms, a kitchen, and an outdoor bathroom. After closing her stall at 2:30 p.m. WIB, she continues sorting trash. She has monthly installments of IDR 1.5 million at BAF Finance for a motorcycle loan and IDR 446,000 at Bank Siwi.

From the before and after photos, Mrs. Eka’s stall looks more organized and her merchandise is complete. Mrs. Eka has also been able to pay off her loan from the National Bank.
